Naomi Moland has taught for several years at the undergraduate and graduate levels. In her courses, she pushes her students to engage deeply and to question taken-for-granted knowledge about other societies and cultures. Moland guides her students to critically examine the power dynamics inherent in international development and educational and media initiatives. Her students analyze video clips, NGOs’ websites, curricular documents, and other “artifacts” from around the world to better understand the underlying assumptions and ideologies of educational and media initiatives.
